Samuel L. Lewis also known as Sufi Sam (October 18, 1896 – January 15, 1971) was an American mystic and horticultural scientist who founded what became the Sufi Ruhaniat International, a branch of the Chishtia Sufi lineage.
Murshid Samuel L. Lewis considered the three poems that comprise The Jerusalem Trilogy his most important work. These poems, spoken in the voices of the prophets and masters of Judaism, Christianity and Islam, deal with the restoration of the Holy Land as a step toward world peace. This restoration involves honoring and appreciating the beauty and depth within all of these religions. Written from the heart, the poetry in The Jerusalem Trilogy contains deep truth from the heart of these religions, which once understood, will also illuminate the mind of the reader. The events of the day illustrate how much we need this understanding.
